For someone who was doubtful for the match and was only pronounced fit less than 24 hours before game time, Wayne Rooney sure looked alright.

Champions League Preview: March 10th, 2010

Football - Manchester United Training & Press Conference

The 2nd legs continue in the Champions League today. Arsenal and Bayern Munich are through thanks to vastly differing results. FC Porto and Fiorentina are out.

Two more will advance today. The matches: Manchester United vs AC Milan and Lyon vs Real Madrid.

Don’t forget, we will be blogging the matches, starting with the Man U one and whats left of the Real Madrid one (it starts an hour later).

If you were looking to see a bunch of goals today you were rewarded. 10 totals goals between the two matches that sent 2 to the quarter-finals and ended the European campaigns of a couple more.

Football - Arsenal v Burnley Barclays Premier League

It’s that time of year again. Time for two teams to bow their way out of the Champions League knockout stages. And while this will happen a little bit later thanks to the new (and stupid) 2nd round format and an international break, the field of contenders will indeed be down to 14 after today, and 12 after tomorrow. Today’s games are a couple of dandy’s. Arsenal vs FC Porto and Fiorentina vs Bayern Munich.

Champions League Recap: February 23rd

BARCELONA VS GETAFE

Stuttgart hold the defending champions to a 1-1 draw.

What is becoming a familiar away result for Barcelona in the knockout stages sends this one back to the Nou Camp with the teams all square.

Stuttgart will count themselves a little unlucky for not coming away with a win as they certainly were the better side here today.
